HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENTS


HISTORY

The RAN Central Canteens Fund (RANCCF) is a non-public fund, created under the Naval Defence Act, 1910 and governed by Navy (Canteens) Regulations, 1954. The RANCCF is managed by the RAN Central Canteens Board (RANCCB): whilst remaining responsive to the Chief of Navy as principal of the fund.

Goals

  1. To maintain an inflation adjusted asset base.
  2. To  maximise sustainable revenue growth of the RANCCF.
  3. To enhance the benefit streams for serving Navy members.
  4. To identify, manage and build critical relationships.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
Some of the recent developments are:

  1. Win with Navy Raffle exceeds $250,000 in prize money since launch.
  2. BIG4 Bungalow Park won the Milton/Ulladulla Rotary Club 2010 Business of the Year and Best Accomodation House Award for the second year in a row.
  3. Pandanus Pocket on the New South Wales Tweed Coast exceeds 50% occupancy.
  4. The RANCCF open the HMAS Cairns Canteen in February 2011.
  5. A coffee van service was introduced at HMAS Penguin in February 2011.
  6. HMAS Cerberus (CReST) became part of the RANCCF as part of a three year project to bring the governance of canteens back under the RANCCF umbrella.
